For those of you out there who don't think science is cool, I thought I'd include a section for interesting scientific topics and breakthroughs.
3/8/2014: I hope you are all getting excited for the manned missions to Mars (https://www.mars-one.com/). Mars One is a non-profit organization aimed at establishing human life on Mars. The first unammed trips (to drop off supplies) are scheduled to head out in 4 years. And then people in 2028. I wonder what kind of people will sign up (it is a one-way trip after all). Eventually it will be open to the public to vote on which team of 4 astronauts will head up first, so keep an eye out for that.
12/1/2013: Intriguing article about inherited memories (http://www.nature.com/news/fearful-memories-haunt-mouse-descendants-1.14272). There is so much about gene expression that we don't understand. I love this sort of stuff especially because it plays a part in my novel, Power Trio.
